Access regulation

Traffic fluidity requires, at certain times in the day, controlled access to motorways and national roads.

Access regulation is one of many Macq applications intended to increase fluidity on the road network.

Road access can be artificially restricted either to avoid saturation from traffic entering a motorway or to avoid a potentially dangerous situation.

Flow can thus be limited on peri-urban motorway access ramps during traffic jams, access can be altogether stopped at the entrance to saturated car parks and the use of saturated mountain roads accustomed to avalanches can be prohibited, etc.
